Bhutan is located at the eastern end of the Himalayas, surrounded by Tibet in the north, Nepal in the west and India in the south. It is the last remaining great Himalayan kingdom, shrouded in mystery and magic, with magnificent mountain scenery, incredible architecture and a colourful cultural heritage.

The country is a diverse and natural Shangri-La, nestled within the world's most impressive mountain ranges and offering a wide variety of landscapes and an incredible array of wildlife. Snow-capped peaks rise above the bleak gorges, majestic dzongs and fortress-like monasteries gleam among the forest-clad mountain slopes, and high-altitude hiking trails offer incredible views of the valleys. The country is also home to exceptional wildlife, including the magnificent Bengal tiger, the elusive snow leopard, the one-horned rhino and the Asian elephant. Bhutan offers one of the last unspoilt wilderness areas in the Himalayas.
