Antarctica is the southernmost continent on Earth located in the Antarctic region of the southern hemisphere. Antarctica is absolutely stunning and has undeniable natural assets. Its thickest ice shelf at Dome A is more than 4 km deep, almost as deep as the Alps. The world's largest icebergs break off from Antarctica's ice shelves; one of them was the same size as Jamaica. Antarctica is the driest continent, almost entirely a desert with very little snow or rain, yet because it is so cold, the small amount of precipitation that does fall does not melt creating the largest ice shelves. Push your limits and your imagination and venture out of your comfort zone in this region: paddle along ice arches and towering icebergs, take a cruise, hike or snowshoe up peaks, go mountaineering and explore Antarctica's underwater world by snorkelling and scuba diving.
