Finland is a northern European nation bordered by Sweden, Norway and Russia, and in the south by the Baltic Sea. Finland has more forests per square mile than any other country in Europe and offers some of the continent's best hiking, kayaking, skiing, ice fishing and canoeing. Its fabulous network of national parks is home to many wild animals, such as bears and moose, which lurk deep in the forests. In the north, it's also possible to hire a pack of dogs, a group of reindeer or a snowmobile for a trip through snowy wilderness in search of the dancing northern lights. The phenomenon is exceptionally brilliant in this region, with colours ranging from green to blue and even pink.
